BEING able to see the wonders of life is even better when you can do so through the lens of a camera and even capture the moments which may live on in an album or, these days, on social media.

Twenty-year-old Fareeza Khan has been seeing life through her camera for the past few years. She said she realised her passion a few years ago during the Christmas holiday.
“My parents helped me realise my interest…they presented me a beginner’s camera, a Kodak brand, which I still use today,” said Khan.

Photography allows persons to express their creativity and Khan enjoys sharing the art which she creates through her camera. She explores all areas of photography, but mostly enjoys people portraiture and animal photography.

The young photographer was so enthused by the art that she resigned from her work as an auditor to pursue photography.

“At present, I work part-time with my parents who are very supportive of my photography interests. This begun to develop even more after I completed a beginner’s course at School of the Nations after which I attended photography events and workshops,” she said.
She was later advised about the New York Institute of Photography through which she is doing an online course.

Her days go from juggling studies, a part-time job and planning photoshoots to build her portfolio.

In five years or less, she sees herself as a professional photographer with some of the best unusual shots which will be captivating to many.

Khan expects to have more satisfied clients, more jobs and to help other budding photographers, like her, to establish their skills.

She intends on doing it, not just for the money, but to see the pleased faces of her clients. In later days Khan hopes to be of great help to young photographers by passing on her knowledge and skill.

Aspiring photographers were urged to do what they love and they will become good at it. She encouraged them to explore their creativity and show it.
“You don’t need the top brands and pricey equipment to create good photographs; it’s the skills of the photographer that make good photographs,” said Khan.
