SHERWIN Hamilton, of Lot 20 Sarah Johanna, East Bank Demerara, who is charged with disorderly behaviour and the use of threatening language at the Timehri Police Station on March 7, 2019, re-appeared before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Providence Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
Hamilton is also charged with assault causing actual bodily harm committed on Candace Edwards . His sister Patrina De Groot is charged with disorderly behaviour.
On Thursday, Hamilton brought police witness Constable Gravesande of the Timehri Police Station to confirm that he did not curse or use any abusive language to the police on the day he was arrested.
After being cross-examined by Police Prosecutor Corporal Shawn Gonsalves on Wednesday, Hamilton stuck to his story.
However, Constable Gravesande told the court that he was not sure of Hamilton’s use of expletives at the Timehri Police Station on the day he was in custody for the alleged offences. He said that he was attending to other duties, while Hamilton and his relatives, including his sister Patrina De Groot, were at the station.
