FORTY-five-year-old Radica Motilall of Bath Settlement, West Coast Berbice, was discovered lifeless in her bathroom just after 14:45hrs on Thursday afternoon by a neighbour who had gone to check on her.

Motilall lived with her married son, Toolsie and his wife Nikitta, but at the time of the discovery, the couple was not at home.

As customary, neighbour Neezam Bhikram went next door to visit as the woman was experiencing mental health challenges.

His calls to Radicka went unanswered. It was unusual of her not to respond. As a result, he ventured into the house and after checking through all the rooms, he discovered her in the toilet area, in a seemingly suspended position.

The police were notified and the unresponsive Motilall was taken to the Fort Wellington Hospital where a medical practitioner confirmed her death.

Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
