…fined $150,000, licence revoked

LEON David, who was charged with dangerous driving, was on Tuesday found guilty in absentia by Magistrate Sunil Scarce at the Providence Magistrate’s Court and was fined $150,000.

David, of 445 Parfaite Harmonie Housing Scheme, also had his driver’s licence revoked.
It was alleged that on March 2, 2019, David drove his motor vehicle PWW6964 in a manner dangerous to the public along the Diamond Access Road, East Bank Demerara.

It was also alleged that David was also involved in another accident the same day, with motor vehicle PJJ 9539.

The driver of PJJ 9539, Jatardra Ramlachan, appeared in court, but David was a no-show.
