A STUDENT of the Linden Foundation Secondary School (LFFS) is in a critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) after he was knocked down by a teacher on Wednesday.
Fifteen-year- old pedal cyclist, Derrick Rambharrat, of Speightland, Lower Kara Kara, is battling for his life after he was flung from his bicycle by a car driven by a female teacher of Amelia’s Ward Primary School.
According to police reports, the accident occurred around 11:40 hrs on the Central Amelia’s Ward access road. Motor car PTT 4790, driven by a female teacher, was proceeding north along the western side of Amelia’s Ward Access Road,reportedly at a fast rate of speed, when it collided with the bicycle.
As a result of the collision, the pedal cyclist received multiple injuries about his body.
He was picked up in an unconscious state by public-spirited persons and rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex (LHC). He was later transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he remains in a critical state. The teacher is in custody assisting with the investigation.
