Escapee caught, remanded to prison for several offences

TWENTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD Daniel Boutrin, who escaped from police custody in March, was re-arrested, charged, placed before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, and remanded to prison.

Boutrin, who hails from Tucville, Georgetown, was on Friday remanded to prison for escaping from the East La Penitence Police Station, and for a series of other charges.
The young man appeared before Senior Magistrate, Leron Daly, and pleaded not guilty to all of the charges.

The first charge alleged on March 17, 2019, while in custody at the East La Penitence Police Station for the charge of threatening language, Boutrin escaped.

It is further alleged that on February 17, 2019, at Sliver Bally Street, Meadow Brook Gardens, the accused inflicted grievous bodily harm on his sister, Javenie Boutrin.
The other charges alleged that on the same day, the defendant used threatening language to Randy Greene and Ranford Boutrin.

Police Prosecutor, Sanj Singh, strongly opposed the defendant being released on bail and told the court that Daniel Boutrin was sentenced before the same court for wounding his sister.

In court, Javenie Boutrin explained that her brother had severed a three months sentence for wounding and threated to kill her.
The magistrate remanded Daniel Boutrin to prison until June 21, 2019.
