Cellphone thief remanded

ON Thursday, June 6, 2019, twenty one-year-old Ronald Armstrong of Craig, East Bank Demerara, appeared before Magistrate Sunil Scarce.

The Court was told that, on April 26, 2019, at Friendship on the East Bank Demerara, Armstrong robbed Parmanand Ramrattin, at knife point, of a cellphone valued at $ 90 000.
Additionally, Armstrong was also-charged with robbing Shane Daniels of the same address at Friendship East Bank Demerara of a cellphone valued at $36 000.

In the witness stand, on Thursday, Armstrong denied that he had robbed Shane Daniels or even knew him since they had never seen each other prior to their appearance in Court.

The Court was told during the testimony of Sergeant Dunn of the Grove Police Station, that Armstrong assaulted a Police Officer when he was confronted and eventually arrested for these offences.

The matter will be heard again at the Providence Magistrate‘s Court on Monday June 10, 2019.
