A mason was, on Monday, remanded to prison for the murder of 21-year-old Antonio Dos Santos, called “Lil boy”, who was shot and killed outside of a popular nightclub in Bartica last week.
Marvin Jacobs called ‘Marvin Moses,’ 29, of First Avenue, Bartica, made his appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Jacobs was not required to plead to the indictable charge which alleged that, on May 13, 2019, at First Avenue, Bartica, he murdered Dos Santos. He was represented by attorney-at-law Trenton Lake while the state was represented by Police Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield.
The Chief Magistrate transferred the case to the Bartica Magistrate’s Court for June 12, 2019. According to reports, on the day in question, Dos Santos was at the Top Notch Nightclub, First Avenue, Bartica, when he was allegedly confronted by Jacobs who was armed with a gun. Dos Santos, was shot twice to the chest while his killer fled on foot. However, Jacobs was later turned in to the police in Bartica by his mother.
Dos Santos was taken to the Bartica Regional Hospital where he was treated and later referred to seek further medical attention in Georgetown. He, however, succumbed to his injuries while at the Bartica Municipality Airstrip awaiting the medevac airplane.
