-as Kamran Dam bridge destroyed
AT Least 20 farmers and residents who used the Kamran Dam bridge in Canal Number Two, West Bank Demerara, have been affected as a result of a fire on the bridge in the early hours of Saturday, April 20, 2019.
When the Chronicle newspaper spoke with a member of the Neighbourhood Democratic Council, Shief Ally, we were told that bird catchers and fishermen might have lit a fire in proximity to the bridge, which could have been the cause of the fire.
Additionally, the Chronicle was told that the fire has destroyed the mobility of residents and farmers who use the bridge daily, to transport goods and produce.
Ally indicated to the Guyana Chronicle that members of the Guyana Fire Service from the nearby village of La Grange managed to contain the blaze and prevented it from spreading.
