A Third Form student of Aurora Secondary School, Region Two, tragically lost his life Thursday morning after he came into contact with two live wires.
Dead is Nicosi Pryce, 14, of Lot 74 Huis’t Dieren, Essequibo Coast. His father Witfield Pryce, 44, a labourer, who also came into contact with the live wires, is currently hospitalised.
The incident occurred on Thursday around 08:30 hrs.
According to information received, the deceased was assisting his father in fixing a 25-foot steel antenna pole when the pole fell onto two electrical power lines. The father and son, who were holding the pole at the time, were hit by the electric current and immediately fell to the ground in an unconscious state.
Neighbours rushed to their assistance and took them to the Suddie Public Hospital. The teenager reportedly died on his way to the hospital while the father remains a patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The teenager’s death came as a shock to the teachers and students of the Aurora Secondary School.
