THE Indonesian chainsaw operator who was killed on Friday at West Kurubaru Backdam in the Demerara River after being injured by a falling tree, died as a result of multiple injuries, according to an autopsy done Monday.
The body of Daniel Sambara, 45, of Mabura Hill was handed over to relatives for burial in Indonesia. Reports indicate that the chainsaw operator was struck to his head by a root from another tree that was uprooted as a result of one he had cut down.
He was pronounced dead on arrival at the Linden Hospital Complex and his body was later taken to the Lyken Funeral Parlour. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
