…starts repair process to damaged property
A 21-year-old man, who was said to be racing with his friends, crashed his car into the fence of the home of the Greenidge family at Old Road, DeKendren, West Coast Demerara on Sunday night.
The driver, Dushaant Ramsundar, a resident of Tuschen, East Bank Essequibo was allegedly speeding when he lost control of the vehicle bearing registration PSS 2685.He escaped with minor injuries.
Eyewitnesses related that such was the speed of the car, that it went airborne and crashed into the fence and the verandah of the two storied house, before hitting the ground.
At the time of the incident an elderly couple,Thelma and Rupert Greenidge, were at home with their granddaughter along with her son.They were astonished and traumatised following the bizarre incident.
The young driver reportedly fled the scene after the crash and later turned up at the Leonora Cottage Hospital for treatment.The man’s father subsequently arrived at the scene and tried to alleviate the situation.
When this publication spoke with the Greenidge family, they stated that a substantial amount of damage was done to their home.
After a confrontation with the the driver, the young man took building materials to begin repairing the damages done to house.(Deneita Fredericks)
