Charity man succumbs to stab wounds

A 48-year-old man was on Saturday fatally stabbed in the Lower Pomeroon.

Dead is Michael Chu ,called “Chuman, “a labourer of Charity Housing scheme Essequibo Coast.

The man was stabbed by a 28 year-old labourer around midday at Glen Nors ,Lower Pomeroon River.

Police investigations disclosed that the suspect and the deceased were drinking when a heated agrumemt ensued. The suspect then armed himself with a knife and stabbed the deceased several times.

Police said a Coast Guard Officer responded to a request for assistance and the deceased was escorted to the Charity Hospital where he was treated and admitted.He was  later transferred to the Suddie Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries about 17:58 hours.

The suspect was arrested and is assisting police with the investigations.
