THE 31 Special Force Squadron (A) team took top honours with a total of 774 points in the Force’s First Quarterly Fitness Competition for 2019, following two days of intense competition which concluded on Friday.

The competition was held at Base Camp Stephenson, Timehri.
According to the GDF, the Training Corps finished second among the male teams with a total of 703 points, while the Ensigns of the Standard Officer Course #50 placed third with 696 points.

The females of Base Camp Stephenson surpassed their counterparts with 548 points to gain first place.

The females of the Guyana People’s Militia placed second with 486 points, and the females currently undergoing training in the Reserve Officer Course #16 placed third with 368 points, and Base Camp Ayanganna, fourth with 323 points.

Chief-of-Staff, Brigadier West, congratulated the teams for a job well done and registered his satisfaction with the overall performance of the soldiers.

First to third place teams were presented with trophies and medals.
The participating teams were also awarded for outstanding performance in the various aspects of the competition.
