RONALD Sebachann, a resident of West Coast Berbice was on Monday April 1, 2019 brought before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan on a charge of unlawfully wounding a Berbice man.
The 34-year-old denied the charge which read that on March 29, 2019 at Aranka Junction, Cuyuni River he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Leslie McKenzie.
According to Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield, an argument ensued between the two which led to the defendant taking a cutlass, with which he dealt McKenzie several chops about his body. The prosecutor did not object to bail. Bail was granted to the accused at the sum of $70,000 under the condition that he reports to the station every Friday. He will make his next appearance on April 11, 2019 at the Bartica Magistrates’ Court.
