NATIONAL Under-15 all-rounder Sheldon Charles will lead Essequibo in the upcoming  Under -17 Inter-county tournament scheduled to commence on April 6^th in Georgetown.

The versatile Charles has been in prolific form this season with both bat and ball and will spearhead a strong batting line-up which also includes Wazim Mohamed and Ronaldo Scouten; both recording centuries recently along with Alex Alli, Azizi Christiani and Aryan Persaud.

Exciting fast bowlers, Nazir Mohamed and Dreshaun Phillips, as well as Charles will seek to make early inroads with the new ball. The spin department will be boosted by the spin of Abdool Nazir, Ronaldo Scouten and Ryan Atkinson; all of whom turns the ball prodigiously.

The full squad reads:- Sheldon Charles (Captain), Jason Holder, Nazir Mohamed, Alex Alli, Wazim Mohamed, Sunil Persaud, Addul Nadir, Ryan Atkinson, Azizi Cristiani, Uriah Stoll, Dreshaun Phillips, Oren Gibson, Ronaldo Scouten and Aryan Persaud. The manager is Nazeer Mohamed while Nankishore Andrews will perform the duties of coach. The competition will involve the three counties along with a President’s XI as the players will battle for championship honours while vying for selection on the national team for the Regional tournament.
