FAZAL Oosman, 39, of Lot 1 Hand-en-Veldt, Mahaica, East Coast Demerara, was, on Wednesday, charged with attempt to commit murder. He was remanded to prison until May 3, 2019.

The farmer is alleged to have committed the act on his reputed wife on February 24, 2019, at the above address, in the presence of a Rural Constable who was in the process of serving him a “Notice of Proceeding” for his appearance before the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court the following day. The notice was issued by the Clerk of Court of the East Demerara Magisterial District on behalf of the victim.

Ossman who was apprehended in Good Hope, East Coast Demerara appeared, on Tuesday, before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court. The case has been transferred to the Mahaica Magistrate’s Court.
