A 30-year-old miner on Friday, February 22, 2019, made his appearance before Senior Magistrate Leron Daly at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for obtaining money by false pretence.
Keron Sewnarine of Essequibo, pleaded not guilty to the charge which alleged that, on July 14, 2018, at Eccles, East Bank Demerara, he obtained 15 bottles of oil, valued $276,450, from Yellow Mine Hydraulic Supplies, by falsely pretending that it was for El Dorado Trading, knowing same to be false.
Police Prosecutor Sanj Singh made no objection to bail.
Magistrate Daly released Sewnarine on $60,000 bail and adjourned the matter until March 15, 2019.
