Representing Banks DIH Limited, Communications Manager Mr. Troy Peters said this year is significant in that the Banks DIH slogan “The winning theme” shows a connection with the ‘Mash’ theme, “Celebrating 49 with victory in mind.” He noted that the company has been with mash activities over the years and was instrumental in resuscitating the calypso competition to the point where it has now swollen beyond the Demerara Park venue and has to be held at the National Park this year. The company, he said, has pumped millions into most of the Mash activities. Training Manager of Beharry Restaurant Holdings Inc. (KFC Guyana) Ms. Charissa Rampersaud, speaking on behalf of KFC, said the company has given $3.5M dollars in sponsorship towards the Children’s costume and float parade.
She said the company is proud to be partnering with the Ministry of the Presidency, Department of Social Cohesion, Culture, Youth and Sport for the 49th Republic Anniversary and is excited about the Children’s Costume and Float Parade. “Being the family-oriented brand that we are, we remain committed to investing in the development of our nations’ youth,” she said.

She further noted that the company’s contribution towards the success of Mash 2019 is an initiative the company took, given that Mash has always been and continues to be a national family-oriented event.

“We are thankful for our customers’ continued support so that we can contribute back to society. Remember we are one people one nation, one destiny with 5 KFCs”, she said.
Meanwhile, Brand Manager of ANSA McAL, Errol Nelson, pointed out his company’s contribution to the Carib Soca Monarch Competition. He went on to say that in 2018 the company collaborated with the Government of Guyana for the first time to ensure the successful hosting of the Soca Monarch Competition. This move, he said, is very important in supporting the creative and performing arts, while honouring the company’s corporate social responsibility. Mr. Tyndall in response said that the ministry was happy to give sponsors the opportunity to speak about their sponsorship and why they are going to be collaborating with the central planning committee for the hosting of Mash 2019.

The children’s parade will be held on Saturday, February 16 and begins on Middle Street, moving left into Camp Street along the western carriageway, right into Lamaha Street, left into Albert Street right into Thomas Lands and into the National Park.
