Guyanese youth roll out ‘Guava Productions

WHAT do you get when young people combine their creative talents in order to make an impact in the local industry? Well, you can say – a Guava Productions.

“Guava Productions is a concept made real through hard work and persistence of its young development team,” member of the group, Rondell Glasgow said.
The “test-run” commenced right in the middle of what-in Guyanese idiom is known as the ‘hard guava season’. Perhaps to redefine the season, it is a time where a sweet idea can blossom into much more than a hard, sour fruit, hence, the name “Guava Productions”.

The group kick-started their work with a debut album of the group called “Heart of Memories”. The album features the cadre of young local talent who have worked tirelessly to compile both original songs and covers.

Trevon Selman, Charese Vandyke, Stephon Spencer and Aditya Prashad are some of the confirmed artistes on this album, so far.
“(It) essentially serves to demonstrate the quality of work that collaborating with Guava Productions can yield,” Glasgow said.
Furthermore, he shared that the aim behind the group was a common desire to see the arts in Guyana go to another level, to produce quality and raise the bar to another standard.

Glasgow also noted that while the group is currently focused on music production, it is their intention, to eventually expand to photography and videography- since these also fall under the umbrella of the creative arts.
“At Guava Productions, we waste no time in making your imaginations a reality; to produce pieces you can be proud of and quite possibly, be amazed by,” the young man said.
The album will be made available on the group’s Facebook page: Guava Productions, & Instagram page: GuavaProd. The group can be contacted on guavaproductions1@gmail.com
