LED by all-round performances from Yutesh Dhanpaul, Mark Jeffers and Malcom Hubbard, the Zeeburg Sports Club proved their dominance by whipping Rising Star Sports Club by 152 runs in the final of the Rising Stars T20 competition on Sunday last at the Zeeburg Cricket ground.

Rising Star won the toss under overcast conditions and asked the home team to take first strike.  Coach/player of the side, Dhanpaul, smacked an aggressive 84 to lead the attack.

The 31-year-old Dhanpaul  who has been in good form, struck eight sixes and five fours batting at number five.

Dhanpaul  and Andre Seepersaud shared 84 for the fourth wicket, while earlier Jeffers and Malcom Hubbard had added 60 for the second wicket.

Jeffers, who opened the batting with Ronaldo Renee, finished with 35 (2x4s, 1×6), while Seepersaud also scored 35 (2x4s, 3x6s) and Hubbard 28 (2x4s, 1×6) as the home team raced to 229-5.

Rising Star were led by T. Chung who picked up 2-42.

In the middle, the visitors were routed for 77 in 11.4 overs after Jeffers took 4-26 with his medium pace.  Hubbard supported with 3-2 and Dhanpaul with 2-1.
