CITIZEN Bank Guyana recorded $602.3 million in after-tax profit for 2018, according to the annual report of BANKS DIH Limited, which is a 51 per cent owned subsidiary of the company.

This report is based on the performance period ended September 30, 2018.
During the period under review, the bank’s profit before taxation was $1.009B, while its net interest income stood at $2.24B.

Its earnings per share were recorded at $10.12, while the total assets base was $50.5B.
Meanwhile, loan assets in 2018 decreased from $28.2B to $25.5B in 2018 and customer deposits were at $40.9B compared to $40.6B in 2017.

The bank’s audited financial statements for the year ended 30 September, 2018, show that it paid an interim dividend of $0.70 per share unit and a final dividend of 1.80 per share unit is now being recommended, aggregating to total of $2.50 per share unit or $148.7M.
The directors which hold shares in the company as of the review period are Chairman/Managing-Director Clifford B. Reis with 125,000 in associated beneficial interest; Vice-Chairman Roy Cheong with 31,250 in the same category and Director Frances Parris with 6,250 in beneficial shares.
