Former policeman fished out of ‘Blacka’

THE decomposed body of Cyril Persaud, a former policeman, was found in the Lamaha Canal at Durban Backlands, Georgetown on Sunday morning.

Police in a release, said that Persaud’s brother, Peter Brahamdow, identified his body at the Lyken’s Funeral Home, shortly after the discovery was made.

The elderly man went missing last Friday. His children, who reside overseas, have been searching for him since he disappeared. He was formerly attached to the Mounted Branch of the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

Investigations by the police are ongoing.
