FOLLOWING a scheduled Base Muster, Commandant of the Guyana People’s Militia (GPM) Colonel Paul Arthur recently affixed the badges of rank to the newly-promoted soldiers as he called on them to embrace all educational opportunities.

Colonel Arthur congratulated all the troops who gained promotions and urged them to continue in excellence. “For many of you, this is the first step along the path of elevation in rank. You have gained promotion based on your hard work and commitment to being professional. I urge you to continue reaching higher. Continue to push past your own boundaries to achieve more that is good and gratifying. You have what it takes to advance in your military career,” he said.

He continued: “Do not slow down nor do not succumb to feelings of frustration when faced with challenges. The challenges will come and there will be all sorts of distractions. Stay focused. Embrace all educational opportunities, and, as you mature, do not take anything for granted. Continue to be hard-working and dedicate yourselves always to being the best!”
