A 39-year-old lorry driver and father of four died Friday morning when a sand truck he was driving ran off the road at Airy Hall Mahaicony and turned turtle.
Travis Isaacs of Tempie Village also known as “Spice” reportedly died on the spot. Two persons in the vehicle namely Akeem McPherson 20 and Elliott, both of Plantation Ross West Coast Berbice survived the accident with minor injuries. Reports stated that Isaacs was negotiating a turn on the road at Airy Hall when he lost control of the vehicle.

At his home at Tempie on Friday morning relatives were still stunned with shock. His mother Tessa Bassoo said that she returned home to Guyana from overseas only last week anticipating an enjoyable holiday with her four children but was faced with this terrible tragedy instead.
Isaacs was popular in West Coast Berbice as a driver of cars and mini buses, trucks and other vehicles. He had been in the employ of the owner of the vehicle he was driving at the time of his death. Police investigations into the fatal accident were up to late yesterday afternoon ongoing.
