THE Guyana National Newspapers Limited, publishers of the Guyana Chronicle newspaper, added to spreading the joy of Christmas, by hosting a Christmas giveaway for their regular readers.

Persons were encouraged to buy the daily and cut out the coupon for a chance to enter a draw to win five prizes comprising of a printer, $10,000 gift voucher, $10,000 cash, a fruit basket and a cake hamper.

Last Thursday the competition came to an end as the five winners were selected; Dwaine Moses, Karta Pestana, Mohandai Myandat, Teneshia Jonas and Shanta Lall.
Upon collecting their prizes, the excited five said that they all buy the Guyana Chronicle newspaper every day and to have received this gesture of appreciation in this season of giving makes them very grateful.

One winner said, “I read the Chronicle from Sunday to Sunday and I find it to be very comprehensive. I was traveling and as soon as I came back, I saw the coupon and it took me like three days before it clicked to participate, since I read the papers everyday… and I would love to have a food basket. So when Santa Claus called and told me I won, I said dreams really do come true at Christmas.”

Acting General Manager, Donna Todd expressed how happy she was that they were reading the newspapers every day, and she encouraged that they continue even after the giveaway.

“We recognised that during the promotion, our circulation went up a little, so we encourage, and will continue to encourage persons to buy our daily. Even if they can’t afford every day, at least the Sunday’s publication so that we can have a wider reach,” Todd told the winners.
