…cop recovers stolen items after robbery

A POLICE officer who was robbed on Monday evening has recovered all of the items which were stolen.

According to a press statement from the Guyana Police Force (GPF), the officer who is stationed in `C’ Division, was robbed of his jewellery, cellphone and a force-issued handgun at Greenville Park, East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Police credited the recovery of the items to diligent police investigations which also led to the apprehension of two suspects.
Meanwhile, a force-issued handgun which was reportedly stolen from a policeman at a night club in Alberttown has also been recovered. The gun was recovered among a pile of garbage in South Ruimveldt.

Investigations in both matters are ongoing.
