Food For The Poor fetes Palms residents, children

IN an effort to spread good cheer and joy for the festive season, Food For The Poor (FFTP) hosted its annual party with sumptuous food for residents o The Palms.

The management and staff of the charity organisation brightened the lives of 100 residents of the Palms Geriatric Home on Friday.

The residents were served lunch as part of the party which was the first of a series of parties held for the less fortunate.

A wide variety of items is donated to the Palms monthly to help sustain the institution.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kent Vincent and Mr. Paul Chan-A-Sue, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of FFTP respectively, gave brief remarks at the ceremony; they expressed great joy and satisfaction in mingling with familiar faces.

Samantha Douglas, Administrator of the Palms, thanked FFTP for its continuous support.

The residents were also treated to the infectious music of the Guyana Police Force (GPF) band and the sweet pan music of Gary Drakes.

FFTP held a party for children of Festival City and its environs, where children were gifted toys following a day of games and goodies which included lunch.
