First Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger addresses the gathering of 150 senior citizens from care homes throughout Georgetown

FIRST Lady, Mrs. Sandra Granger on Friday hosted a luncheon for senior citizens and their caretakers at the Baridi Benab, State House.

Mrs. Granger conveyed well wishes for the festive season on behalf of President David Granger, who was unable to attend the event. “I wish everyone a very merry, blessed, peaceful, healthy Christmas and New Year. As you know, my husband is unable to attend, but he wanted me to assure you that he echoes those sentiments and that he wishes you all a merry Christmas and a very happy, peaceful, and prosperous new year,” she said.

First Lady serves the seniors during the luncheon

The First Lady, and special invitees from the Luminous Women’s Group and Women Across Differences (WAD), served the over 150 senior citizens and caretakers, who came from geriatric homes throughout Georgetown, Essequibo Islands-West Demerara (Region Three), and Upper Demerara-Upper Berbice (Region Ten).
