A motorcyclist died on Thursday afternoon after a collision with a minibus on the Non Pariel Public Road ,East Coast Demerara (ECD).

Dead is David Aulder ,26,  of Lot 254 Section ‘A’ Non Pariel ,ECD. The minibus driver is in police custody assisting with the investigation.

When contacted, police said a breathalyzer test was conducted on the driver and he was found above the legal limit.

Reports indicate that the minibus was proceeding west along the southern carriageway of Non Pariel Public Road while the motor cyclist who, who is a local fashion model,  was proceeding north along the Coldigen Access Road ,reportedly at a fast rate of speed.

On approaching the intersection the motorcyclist failed to stop ,turned east and proceeded along the southern side on Non Pariel Public Road which was against the one way.He subsequently collided with the front left side of the minibus.

Eyewitness said that as a result of the collision, the motorcyclist lost control and fell onto the roadway and sustained injuries.

He was picked up in an unconscious condition and taken to Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
