Persaud, Sukhram retain Guyana Open Golf tournament

AVINASH Persaud delivered the perfect ending of the 2018 edition of the Guyana Open golf tournament to capture his ninth title when the two-day tournament ended yesterday at the Lusignan Golf Course.

Persaud defended his title with ease, to finish with an amazing 144 gross, while Richard Haniff with a gross 147 came in second. Kevin Dinanauth finished in third place after shooting a gross 148.

It was hard work out there, but I enjoyed every bit of it,” Persaud said after the win.

Meanwhile, Dr. Joaan Deo surrendered her first day lead to end in third position with a gross 177 and a net 145.

Reigning champion Christine Sukhram, who started yesterday with a gross 88, showcased her true talent and character to retain her title. She ended with a gross 171 and a net 149, while Shanella Webster claimed second position with a gross 171 and a net 139. More details in subsequent edition.
