THE police detained 31 persons on Sunday morning while conducting a number of cordon-and-search exercises in ‘A’ and ‘D’ Divisions under “Operation Restore Order.”
The operations were conducted in the villages of Kaneville and Diamond, East Bank Demerara and Westminster and La Grange, West Bank Demerara. It involved more than 190 ranks, inclusive of a number of senior officers.

Three females were among those detained in connection with various offences, ranging from possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and robbery under arms to wounding.

A number of items, including two flat screen television sets, 15 mobile phones, a Motorola handset, a Toshiba laptop, 1500 grams of cannabis, a toy gun and G$207,740, were unearthed

The exercises were incident-free.
