LOCAL optometry institution, Miracle Optical, has joined the sponsors for the upcoming Guyana Motor Racing and Sports Club’s (GRM&SC) Ignite race meet.

Set as the final leg of the Seaboard Marine Caribbean Motor Racing Championships final leg, the event is set for November 10 and 11 at the South Dakota Circuit, Timehri.

“Miracle Optical has been on board with sponsoring racing from as far back as I can remember and we wouldn’t change that view come this year end,” CEO of Miracle Optical Romeo Singh said.

He contended, “We like the partnership with the sport and it is something that we will continue to do. This is one of the biggest events for the year and we are glad to be associated with that.”

A statement from the GMR&SC indicated that “we are happy to have Miracle Optical on board with the Ignite race meet. We feel that the company is seen as strong with sport and we were more than happy to see them join motorsport as well.”

“We foresee this new partnership taking the sport to new levels and we want to thank the management of Miracle Optical for putting their faith in us,” the statement continued.

Meanwhile, the final leg of the Caribbean Championship is expected to see competition from Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, Jamaica, the United States and Canada as well as Europe.

Apart from the regular groups 1 through 4 and Superstock championship, the first-ever Radical Caribbean Championship featuring the SR3s, is expected to culminate here too.

Other sponsors for the event include GBTI, B.M. The club is expected to launch the event within days with just over a month remaining until the race meet. However, ticket prices have been confirmed at $2 500 for adults and $1 000 for children.
