LEAGUE football action at the school football level begins today at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue.

The tournament’s opening game at 11:30hrs will see Annandale and Vergenoegen clash with Uitvlugt and Wismar Christianburg set for the second game at 13:15hrs.

At 15:00hrs Friendship will take on Marian Academy. In the fourth game of the day from 16:45hrs Queen’s College and Queenstown will clash.

Matches continue tomorrow when Bishops’ take on St Rose’s from 15:00hrs and Dolphin face Lodge from 17:15hrs.

The winners, second-, third- and fourth-placed teams will all receive funding towards a project of their choice. The top two teams will also gain automatic qualification to the Petra/KFC four-team Invitational Goodwill football tournament which takes place in December.

The other two teams in that tournament will be Shiva Boys Hindu College from Trinidad and Annai of Region 7.

The tournament concludes on December 9.
