Caught on camera!

– stealing from his ‘good-friend’

A 32-year-old man was on Friday remanded to prison after he appeared before Magistrate Leron Daly on a simple larceny charge.

The charge alleges that on September 13, 2018 at Mandela Avenue, Calvin Francis stole $109,000, property of an acquaintance of his, one Khamusi Griffith.

Francis, who resides on Princes Street, Lodge denied the charge, prompting prosecutor, Sanj Singh to object to bail due to the seriousness of the offence and the fact that the defendant was charged before with robbery with violence.

According to the facts presented in court, Francis was caught on CCTV camera removing the money from Griffith’s place of business, as a result of which a report was made and defendant arrested.

Bail was refused, and the defendant was remanded to prison until October 5.
