ONE of two armed bandits on Wednesday afternoon walked into Bounty Supermarket located on Alexander Street, Kitty, and relieved two cashiers of an undisclosed sum of cash.

It happened about 15:30hrs when the place was open for business as per normal. The robber whipped out a gun and brandished it, causing the two frightened employees to empty the cash registers and hand over an undisclosed amount of money. The bandit, after committing the armed robbery on the business establishment, calmly walked away and hopped onto a waiting motorcycle which sped away from the scene before the police were summoned.

At the time, customers were in the supermarket but they were not robbed. The robbery took place within the space of a few minutes. The supermarket is outfitted with security cameras and up to press time the police said no arrests have been made but an investigation is active as they are reviewing the footage in an effort to identify the suspects.
