A 41-year- old man appeared on Friday before Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman slapped with fraud charges.
One charge allege that on May 30, 2018 at Soesdyke Highway, Shizam Mohan, while being solely entrusted by Pashon Bharat with the sum of $ 310,000 for the purpose of drilling a water well at Long Creek on the Linden Highway, fraudulently converted the money to his own use and benefit.
It was also alleged that between May 20 and 24, 2018 at Orange Walk in Georgetown, Mohan while being solely entrusted by Omwati Bharat and John Bharat, with the sums of $110,000 and $10,000 respectively, also for the purpose of drilling a well at Long Creek, he fraudulently converted the money to his own use and benefit.
The father of two children, who resides at Cummings Lodge, ECD denied the charges read out to him.
The Police Prosecutor had no objections and bail was set at $300,000.
The matter was adjourned to September 7, 2018
