LOCAL beverage giant Banks DIH Limited yesterday confirmed its deal sponsorship deal with organisers of the 12th annual Guyana Cup Horse Race Meet.
The one-day event is billed for August 19 at the Rising Sun Turf Club, West Coast Berbice.
During a simple ceremony at the company’s head office at Thirst Park yesterday, Alisha Mohamed, wife of Nasrudeen Mohamed, promoter of the event, received the trophy from Banks DIH Limited representative Shenisa Fredericks in the presence of Outdoor Events Manager Mortimer Stewart, and other company officials.
Communications Manager Troy Peters said that Banks DIH Limited and the organisers of the Guyana Cup have had a long and fruitful partnership which has grown over the years.
“The Guyana Cup is the premier horse racing event locally and our sustained support has aided in the development of the sport in Guyana,” Peters said
Nasrudeen Mohamed, expressed gratitude to Banks DIH Limited for sponsoring the Guyana Cup for another year.
Over $15M in cash and prizes will be up for grabs in the one-day event, which starts at 12:00hrs.
