THE Guyana Bank for Trade and Industry Limited (GBTI Ltd) on Friday concluded its Annual Summer Camp for members of its Early Savers Club at the Bank’s Recreational Centre, Kaieteur Road, Bel Air Park.

The event, which was held from July 16 to 20, 2018 culminated with an exhibition of the art and craft pieces created during the camp.

The programme targeted two age groups. The morning session, 09:00hrs to 12:00hrs, targeted the 7 to 10 years category, while the afternoon session, from 13:00hrs to 15:00hrs, targeted the 11 to 15 years group.

The younger group of children were involved in Storytelling and Guyanese Folklore, Know your Country and other literary sessions facilitated by renowned Guyanese literary activist Allan Fenty, while the senior group was more involved in Arts and Craft sessions facilitated by Taneka Sanchara, Head Teacher, Unique Play School and member of the Kids Today Leaders Tomorrow Television Programme.

The bank for the second time, this year, partnered with the KTLT Television Programme for the hosting of the Summer Camp which will be broadcast on TVG Channel 28 from Saturday.

Robin St Marthe of TVG’s KTLT Television Programme lauded the bank for the initiative and for providing the opportunity to the kids of the KTLT to be exposed to the activities provided during the camp.

Shawn Gurcharran, Senior Manager, Finance and Accounts, GBTI, said the event has become a part of GBTI as the bank understands the needs of its Early Savers Club members and its other customers.

Musab Hassan and Jhonathan Boodram, two participants, sharing their experience also thanked the bank for adding to their “Summer Fun” and are excited for next year’s participants.

The GBTI Annual Summer Camp is part of the perks members of its Early Savers Club enjoy. Other privileges include bursary awards, higher interest rates, and discounts at various retail outlets among others.
