A FORMER Stores Clerk was on Thursday found guilty of embezzling money from his employer and was sentenced to six months behind bars.

Neil Williams, 23, of Industry, East Coast Demerara was on trial before Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul for embezzling over $140,000 worth in Digicel credit between February and November, 2017 at UG Road, Industry, ECD from Lalta Gainda.

According to reports, Williams was employed at the shop owned by the victim and during the months mentioned in the charge he would transfer Digicel credit from the store into his phone.
