– with reputed wife’s murder
A THIRTY-six-year-old man was on Friday charged for the murder of his reputed wife, as he caught her dancing with another man at Oronoque, Port Kaituma, North West District.
Tyrone James appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman and was not required to plead to the charge which alleged that on July 15, 2018 at Water Front, Port Kaituma he murdered Evadne Baptiste, 37.
He was remanded to prison until July23 when the matter will be recalled before the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
According to reports Baptiste was seen by her boyfriend dancing with another man at the Port Kaituma Water Front. The jilted man allegedly cuffed her to her head which caused her to fall.
Baptiste was subsequently taken to the Port Kaituma hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
A post-mortem examination was conducted on the woman’s remains and the cause of death was listed as brain haemorrhage due to blunt trauma. The suspect is in police custody.
