Man accused of stealing two phones

A MINER appeared on Thursday before a city magistrate and was slapped with two simple larceny charges.

The charge alleged that on January 16, 2016 at Water Front, Kaituma, Kevon King stole one iPhone 6 valued $250,000, property of Elroy Adam.

It was also alleged that on June 22, 2018 at Community Hospital, Port Kaituma, King stole one touch screen phone along with other items valued $27,000 property of James Farrier.
The 28-year-old man who resides at Durban Backlands denied the charges that were read out in court to him.

Prosecutor Gordon Mansfield objected to bail due to the fact that the defendant was a flight risk.

However bail was granted by the Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the sum of $50,000 and the matter was adjourned to August 7, 2018.
