RESIDENTS of Parfaite Harmonie, West Bank Demerara, are now having access to high speed Internet, thanks to the Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GTT).
Over the last week, more than 25 GTT operators and logistics personnel installed and marketed 125 Blaze services in Partfaite Harmonie
According to Guyana’s leading provider in cellular, landline and Internet services, GTT, its Blaze technology has been the most anticipated service for communities across Guyana.
“Although mobile data would have been readily available in this area, this is the first time the provision of Internet services would have been realised by GTT service providers,” GTT said in a release on Saturday.
According to the company, residents were pleased to have access to the high- speed Internet.
One resident, who is a teacher, indicated her anticipation for the service to better assist with her teaching prep and lauded GTT for its same-day installation. Another resident, Debbie Basdeo, elatedly expressed her joy in having Blaze service.
“I am happy that GTT has decided to install Blaze for us, now I can surf the Internet as much as I want.” Lydna Thomas also has a great feeling about the Blaze initiative.
With Blaze, residents cannot only look forward to high speed Internet, but enjoy the use of this service even in a power outage for up to six hours, thanks to its back-up battery operating system. Residents of Parfaite Harmonie are now live and blazing with GTT and pretty soon the whole of GT will be also.
This initiative enabled the sale and installation of same-day services in a large area with the anticipated provision of services reaching 70 per cent by August 2018. GTT’s Blaze was launched in Guyana in 2017.
