THE fourth suspect allegedly involved in the murder of America Street ‘money-changer’ Shawn Nurse, known as ‘Fabulous’, who was gunned down in Georgetown in February, is currently in police custody.
This was revealed on Friday by Police Prosecutor Shawn Gonsalves in the courtroom of Principal Magistrate Judy Latchman at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.
Three men, namely: Kerwin DaSantos called ‘Buffy’, and George Hope called ‘Gregory’, both 24 years old, along with 25-year-old Kacey Heyliger of Shell Road, Kitty are charged with Nurse’s murder.
Prosecutor Gonsalves noted that the fourth suspect was in police custody, and might also be arraigned for the murder.
The prosecutor requested that the matter against the trio to be adjourned until June 26 to allow the police to finish their investigations against the fourth suspect.
The charge read that the trio on February 4 at America Street murdered 47-year-old Nurse during the course of a robbery. They were not required to plead to the indictable charge.
On Sunday, February 4, Nurse was shot in the head after he refused to comply with the suspect’s demand that he turn over whatever cash he had on him. Reports state that after Nurse was shot to his face, the robber made good his escape.
The police were able to make the arrests after reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding buildings.
During last year, Nurse was robbed but was later able to identify two of the persons who had allegedly committed the offence.
