The driver of a minibus, Leon Jaggernaught, 38 of Laluni Highway and conductor Joshua Khan, 22 of 560 Golden Grove EBD will make their court appearance today at the Providence Magistrate’s Court after they were caught transporting over 40 people in a minibus recently.

Police said in a release that it notes with much concern, a disturbing video of an overloaded minibus with school children circulating on social media on June 6, 2018 and wishes to inform the general public that swift action by ranks of the Force has resulted in the driver and conductor of the vehicle BWW 7259 being arrested and charged with the offences of:
overcrowded front seat; breach of insurance; untidy driver; overloaded minibus; untidy conductor and unlicensed conductor.

According to the police the article on Facebook indicated that 45 school children were in the minibus. However, both driver and conductor told Police that there were 24 children.
