A quarrel between two friends on Monday near the Stabroek Market turned deadly after one of the men was stabbed to death.
Dead is Richmond Noel, 22, a vendor of Kitty, Georgetown.
Investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect, who are known to each other, had a misunderstanding after the suspect reportedly assaulted the victim’s sister.

On Monday in the vicinity of Cornhill Street ,Stabroek , the suspect and victim had a heated confrontation in which the suspect who was armed with a knife approached the victim and reportedly dealt him a single stab to the left side of his chest.

The victim collapsed to the ground and was taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) in an unconscious state where he was examined by a doctor. Noel died while undergoing treatment for the wound.

The victim’s  body is currently at the GPHC awaiting a post-mortem examination as police hunt for the  suspect.
