Guyanese Rayden Persaud continued his fine form of karting when he visited Canada last weekend to pick up a first place trophy in the Canadian Karting Challenge (CKC).

Competing at the Innisfil Karting Club’s (IKC) Mini Indy, Rayden continued to impress with his driving, picking up first place against a stacked field.

Speaking to Chronicle Sport, he said, “I felt a little bit nervous but I got the win and brought it home. It’s very nice to win again, especially in another country.”

Earlier, he out qualified the field with a blistering pace, a pace which he carried through the pre-race to finish first there as well.

He made it a perfect day when he carted off the actual race in fine style before the rains cancelled the rest of the day’s program

Persaud, who competes in the GT Motorsports Grand Prix, currently leads the 125cc junior class after two wins and one fourth place finish in the last round earlier this month.

He had support from Stefan Jeffrey and Joe Laluni.
