THREE persons are patients at the Suddie Public Hospital, Essequibo Coast, in Region Two, after they were attacked by a swarm of Africanised bees during a funeral service on Sunday.

Persons were seen scampering from the Hampton Court Cemetery in all directions, screaming in agony as the bees descended on them.

The bees reportedly have a hive in the burial ground and they were aggravated by the footsteps and sounds of the mourners.
