– was allegedly abducted and murder by men linked to recent piracy attack
The lifeless body of a Surinamese police officer , allegedly linked to the recent deadly piracy attack in that country’s waters, was found in a car in Paramaribo early Sunday.
According to information, in what is viewed as a reprisal killing , the family reported the kidnapping of the said officer on Saturday evening indicating he was abducted by “Guyanese”.

According to a source the Officer is said to have allegedly supplied a gun which was used in one of the attacks on “Guyanese Fishermen”.
Investigators also allegedly found a text massage in the phone of the Officer.
The text allegedly stated the dead police officer’s father was responsible for the death of Somnauth Manohar, the man who was gunned down on March 30th in Suriname.
It was that incident which allegedly led to the April 27 attack on four fishing vessels with a 20 member crew. Five survived the incident while 15 are dead.
An SOS message was dispatched on Saturday evening to police ranks in Suriname to be on the look out for the Officer’s car and his whereabouts.
That country’s Crime Department has since launched an investigation.
The Guyana Chronicle will provide more details as it become available.
