A CG motorcycle bandit was captured after he allegedly robbed a businesswoman of almost $5M on Monday morning, while she was heading to a bank on the East Bank of Demerara.
His accomplice who was the pillion rider and who had the bag of cash in his possession managed to escape.
Reports indicate that the woman who operates a gas station located at the Soesdyke Junction, EBD, left her business place in the company of colleagues with the cash. She reportedly had made a stop at Sara Johanna public road to deliver an invoice to another business when she was attacked by two CG bandits.
One of the bandits held the woman at gunpoint before grabbing the bag of money from inside her car. He then dashed over to where his accomplice was waiting on the motorcycle and they fled the scene.
Sometime after, the Police acting upon information caught one of the alleged bandits and seized a motorcycle which is believed was used to commit the crime. Meanwhile, the hunt continues for the other suspect.
